Spectrum Wireline has developed a unique, innovative, and AER-approved tool designed to identify the cement plug in a cased-hole environment over an area of interest that needs to be abandoned to satisfy AER board requirements.

Using a small radioactive source calibrated to specific densities before every run (which ensures readings are as accurate as possible), the tool is run into the cement target to the bottom, proving there is zonal isolation as required by the AER.

The operator can log the cement immediately after cementing, resulting in considerable savings of both time and money and continuity of operations.
